PRESENTATION
INSTRUCTIONS

We wanted to give our fantastic talk and poster presenters further instructions to help them plan their work. Below are each of the presentation types that have been offered, so please check your acceptance letters to ensure which type of presentation to prepare.

When you arrive at the Cairns Convention Centre, you can upload your presentation in the Speakers’ Prep Room G2. There will be signs to this area, and further direction can be sought at the registration desk.

Critical Point: to ensure that all presentations are ready, they must be uploaded in the Speakers’ Prep room, ideally in the session prior to your talk, and no later than 1 hr before your scheduled presentation time to load and check your files.

Keynote Talk

  • Talk duration: 17 minutes, 3 minutes for questions during the allocated Symposium
  • Accepted file formats for presentation submission are PowerPoint or PDF

Invited or Contributed Talk:

  • Talk duration: 12 minutes, 3 minutes for questions during the allocated Symposium
  • Accepted file formats for presentation submission are PowerPoint or PDF

Lightning Talks + Poster Presentation:
The idea behind this is a short introduction to the poster that you will have hanging in the exhibition area. If people want to learn more, they will then be able to come and find you afterwards and chat during your poster presentation section.

  • Lighting talk duration: 2 minutes, no questions, during the allocated Symposium
  • Maximum 2 slides, static with no animations
  • Accepted file formats for presentation submission are PowerPoint or PDF
  • Poster Guidelines: same as below

Poster Presentation

  • Poster dimensions and orientation requirements: A0, portrait
  • No templates are provided as we wish to see the individuality of each presenter in how they design their poster
  • Posters must be printed and hung on the first day of the conference. Posters will be attached to the poster boards using Velcro sticky tabs (provided at the registration desk). Poster number assigned will be given at the registration desk.
